Early 19th century French Country Louis XV style buffet handcrafted of old growth oak that's been bleached or washed to its natural finish by craftsmen near Saint Lō in the Normandy region, circa 1810s. This handsome washed oak buffet features a rectangular top with canted corners above a frieze having two drawers that flank a five point inlaid star. The carved recessed panel doors open to reveal a single shelf with plenty of storage. The carved, shaped apron with an inlaid lozenge rests on short cabriole legs ending in scrolled French toes. Original iron hardware. The narrow depth of this versatile piece makes it perfect for use in a dining room, foyer, or in a den as a media cabinet.
